Here are pictures I took on
Saturday 14th July...
This is Dave and Cathy Elder and a couple of
years before they got their picture added to their clan newsletter on
Dave's 80th birthday.
I will say that the folk that run the clan
tents do a wonderful job and they are even happy to provide information on
other clans if those clans don't have their own clan tent. While at the
games you can get a wee taste of haggis, black pudding, Scots pies, Irn
Bru, etc. as can be seen from the above menu.
As well as the Pipes and Drums you also get
folk singers and other Celtic bands to listen to.
There are Pipe bands playing all over the park
and on the side streets around it. When it's time to play for the
competition they parade into the competition area as seen above. There was
even a Pipe band over from Edinburgh in Scotland.
A lot of bands practicing on the side streets
and having a wee break
And when I went back to my car I spotted this
sticker in the back window for Clan Baird
There was no way for me to show you how many
Pipe bands there were at this event as I don't have a wide angled lens for
my camera but perhaps you can get some idea from the above.
I thought the girl holding the Scottish
Saltire flag was pretty neat leading in her Pipe band
I was amused to see loads of seagulls flying
down around the piping accessories. It was as if they were saying...
"what's all this Scottish stuff they have here". :-)
And so these are a wee
selection of the pictures I took at the games. I also took a few
videos which you can try out below. I might add I don't claim to be a very
good photographer and especially when it comes to taking videos but at
least the music is good :-)
The videos above are MP4
format. |
