For the very first
time, a television documentary chronicled the extraordinary life of
world-renowned Native American entertainer Buffy Sainte-Marie. The
one-hour documentary had its world premiere in Toronto on Wednesday,
November 1st, 2006 at 7:30 pm at the Ontario College of Art & Design
with Buffy Sainte-Marie and director, Joan Prowse in attendance.
Buffy Sainte-Marie: A
Multimedia Life, chronicled the achievements of Sainte-Marie and her
personal journey as singer, songwriter, artist, teacher and activist.
Featuring interviews with Joni Mitchell, Randy Bachman, Steppenwolf’s
John Kay, Robbie Robertson, Bill Cosby and folk legend Eric Andersen;
Buffy Sainte-Marie: Other noteworthy appearances in the film are those
of Pete Seeger and Floyd 'Red Crow' Westerman. A Multimedia Life ties in
current and archival footage including interviews with Sainte-Marie,
past performances and still photos entwined with personal stories.
